The Spyderco Manix 2 Black Blade is a versatile folding knife designed with a stealthy, non-reflective finish, effortlessly blending high functionality with a subtle appearance.
The knife boasts a comprehensive, full-flat-ground blade of superior CPM® S30V® stainless steel, enhanced with a resilient black tungsten DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) layer. This design is complemented by jimping (textured grooves) on the thumb ramp and index-finger choil, ensuring a firm and comfortable grip.
The handle is crafted with robust stainless steel liners, a stainless steel backspacer and textured black G-10 scales. The knife's innovative Ball Bearing Lock™ system is within the handle, which incorporates a steel ball-bearing in a polymer enclosure.
As the blade unfolds, a spring-driven plunger pushes the ball bearing onto a blade ramp, locking it securely. Retracting the cage disengages the lock, letting the blade swivel smoothly back into its resting position. This mechanism promotes safe and easy handling, allowing blade deployment and retraction using either hand without risking finger proximity to the sharp edge.
To boost its versatile utility, the knife is fitted with a two-way hourglass pocket clip, supporting both left and right-side tip-up carriage. T
he blade's signature round hole and the lock system enhance its ambidextrous usage. Notably, all metallic elements of the handle come with a non-reflective black finish.
