This remarkable version features a blade made from CPM® SPY27®. This cutting-edge powder metallurgy steel enhances the cobalt-rich composition of VG-10 stainless steel using niobium and nitrogen, along with more significant quantities of carbon, molybdenum, and vanadium. Developed in collaboration with Crucible® Industries and exclusive to Spyderco, this steel strikes an exceptional balance of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening.
The satin-finished, full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade of the Dragonfly 2 fully utilises these advanced properties. It is complemented by a lightweight fibreglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) handle, injection-moulded in a distinctive cobalt blue—one of the hallmark colours of Spyderco’s elite SPY27 range.
Additionally, the handle houses a robust back lock mechanism and features a reversible deep-pocket wire pocket clip, offering the flexibility of left-side tip-up carry.
