Bob Terzuola, a member of the Blade Magazine Hall of Fame and an esteemed custom knifemaker, has been setting benchmarks in mission-ready fixed blades since the early 1980s. In 1981, Sal Glesser, co-founder of Spyderco, transformed the knife industry by introducing the pocket clip on a folding knife.
This innovation was paired with Spyderco's now-iconic Trademark Round Hole, resulting in the first one-handed opening, clip-carry pocket knife. In 1990, Bob became the first collaborator with Spyderco, integrating Sal's innovations into his tactical knife designs, which led to the groundbreaking C15 Bob Terzuola.
Their partnership continued in 1999 with the introduction of the Starmate. This design merged the key attributes of Bob's Advanced Technology Combat Folder (ATCF) with the benefits of Sal's Trademark Round Hole and pocket clip. Now, twenty-five years later, Spyderco proudly celebrates the legacy of Bob Terzuola and Sal Glesser by reintroducing the limited-edition Starmate Sprint Run®.
This model features a hollow-ground, modified clip-point blade crafted from high-performance CPM 20CV particle metallurgy stainless steel. The satin-finished blade is complemented by a handle made with peel-ply-textured G-10 scales and nested, skeletonised stainless steel liners, which provide a solid foundation for the knife's robust Michael Walker LinerLock mechanism.
Additionally, the handle includes an inlaid Terzuola logo and a four-position pocket clip that accommodates all carry positions.
