Sal Glesser, the company's co-founder, designed the Temperance, one of Spyderco's initial fixed-blade models. The classic design has now been reintroduced as a limited-edition Sprint Run.
It features a grey fibreglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle and a full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ or SpyderEdge™ blade made from CPM CRU-WEAR. CRU-WEAR is specially formulated to provide superior wear resistance and toughness, with an advanced alloy composition further enhanced by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process, ensuring an ultra-fine, extremely homogeneous grain structure.
Staying true to the original design, the knife's ergonomic handle is injection moulded directly onto the blade's tang. It includes bilateral "dimples" to improve its texture and provide pivot points for grip-change manoeuvres.
This revival of the Temperance also consists of a custom-molded Boltaron® sheath with a versatile G-Clip™ attachment.
