Initially introduced in 1999, the Dyad Jr. Lightweight showcases the twin-bladed versatility of its predecessors, now enhanced with fibreglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) handle scales. This unique Sprint Run version not only revives the classic design but also elevates it with Spyderco’s proprietary blade steel, CPM SPY27, and the benefits of screw-together construction.
The knife features two satin-finished blades: a sabre-ground SpyderEdge sheepfoot blade and a full-flat-ground PlainEdge clip-point blade. Together, they provide over four inches of cutting capability, making it suitable for tackling everything from tough, fibrous materials to precision cutting tasks.
Both blades are equipped with a Trademark Round Hole, allowing for easy one or two-handed opening. They lock securely using a unique “bypass” design, which incorporates two independent back lock mechanisms with matching relief cuts. The scales are injection moulded in a distinctive cobalt blue—one of the signature colours of Spyderco’s elite CPM SPY27 family—and feature the traditional Volcano Grip™ texture pattern for a non-slip hold.
A remarkable revival of a true Spyderco classic, the Dyad Jr. Lightweight is clipless and specially designed for in-pocket carry.
