Norse innovation with American soul.
Why intervene with an axe shape that has been tried and tested for over a thousand years? That's the reasoning behind the designer and veteran Elmer Roush when he created the CRKT Freyr™ tactical axe.
Elmer Roush of Brasstown, North Carolina, always looks to the past when designing axes. Though the Freyr's™ deep beard might not be put to use drawing back an enemy's shield as it would have in Viking-patrolled oceans, the balance it adds promotes this axe to a modern workhorse.
Named after the Norse god of prosperity, its Viking spirit stands up to its traditional appearance. A hot-forged carbon steel blade receives a passivation treatment for ultimate corrosion resistance. It's met with a handle carved of Tennessee hickory and is specifically crafted for durability and ease of use.
If it's true that history replicates itself, then this practical axe is the decisive proof.
