The Shaman® is regarded as one of Spyderco's most capable and reliable folding knives. It has now been integrated into the Salt® Series of cutting tools, specifically designed for use in aquatic environments.
The essence of the Shaman Salt lies in its broad, full, flat-ground blade, crafted from CPM® MagnaCut®. This groundbreaking particle-metallurgy steel defies traditional steelmaking principles to deliver an exceptional combination of toughness, edge retention, and outstanding corrosion resistance.
Optimised for tactical applications, the blade features a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating that reduces its reflective properties. This is complemented by a handle made from nested, skeletonised stainless steel liners paired with contoured black G-10 scales.
The liners serve as the backbone of the knife's robust Compression Lock® mechanism, while the scales are carefully machined with Spyderco's distinctive Caribbean Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern. Additionally, to match the DLC-coated blade, the Shaman Salt's liners, four-position pocket clip, and all other hardware are constructed from ultra-corrosion-resistant materials and finished with low-profile black coatings.
