Produced in Maniago, the Squeak SLIPIT is a Spyderco non-locking one-hand open, clip carry folder called a SLIPIT. Designed for legally restricted carry in locations where locking folders are prohibited.
The blade is ground to a whole flat and made of Austrian Bohler-Uddeholm N690Co steel. N690C0 is a high-carbon steel with added cobalt for structural uniformity, resulting in enhanced edge retention and sharpening receptivity. Textured jimping is machined into the blade's spine and choil to increase slip resistance.
The Squeak's blade is held in the open position when cutting by a notched joint at the knife's pivot. When the blade is closed, the notch provides resistance similar to a traditional slip-joint penknife and also smooths the blade's opening motion.
To increase control and comfort, Spyderco designers add a deep finger choil that naturally guides the index finger to the underside of the blade, directly below the thumb—positioning the index finger in this choilpreventss the blade from closing accidentally while cutting. It provides a grip position that allows the user to choke up closer to the cutting edge for greater agility. The handle is FRN (fibreglass reinforced nylon) and engineered for user comfort.
