Their double-flanged stem offers a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 24 dB. Safe sound levels are delivered to the ear canal, while potentially harmful noise (above 85 dB) is reduced by a specially engineered noise-reducing filter.
The EP3s also feature attached filter caps that can be inserted for additional protection, effectively blocking out lower-level background noise—such as that experienced during air travel—when hearing ambient sounds or conversation is not essential. Made from a soft, durable, hypoallergenic polymer, Sonic Defenders provide all-day comfort and a long lifespan (up to 6 months, depending on use and care).
