FFP or SFP – Choose the Setup That Suits You

The R7 4-20x50 is available with either a First Focal Plane or Second Focal Plane reticle, giving shooters the freedom to choose the system that best fits the way they hunt.

With FFP models, the reticle's apparent size changes as magnification increases or decreases. This retains the reticle subtensions accurate across the entire magnification range, rendering it especially useful for holdovers, ranging, or making corrections at different powers.

The SFP models preserve a consistent apparent reticle size throughout the magnification range, providing a familiar sight picture regardless of the selected power. For hunters who opt for a more traditional approach to their optics, the SFP configuration offers a simple and intuitive setup.

Both configurations are offered with MOA or MRAD adjustments, allowing the shooter to select the measurement system they already know and prefer.

Once the shot has been taken, the Zero Stop provides a positive reference for returning quickly and confidently to the rifle’s established zero.

Windage remains capped, protecting the setting against accidental adjustment while the rifle is being carried through the field.

Illuminated for Changing Conditions

An illuminated reticle provides a clearly defined aiming point when light levels begin to fall or when the target is positioned against a difficult background.

On FFP models, Bushnell uses an illuminated, glass-etched Hybrid Dot Tree reticle that combines a precise central aiming point with additional references for corrections and holds. The illumination system offers multiple settings and an automatic shut-off function.
