This supercharged Sprint Run edition of the Manbug Lightweight proudly features a three-layer laminate blade with a V-Toku2 tool steel core.
Made with Swedish iron ore enriched with tungsten, vanadium, and chromium, V-Toku2 is a high-performance tool steel known for its toughness at high hardness.
To bolster its strength and provide greater corrosion resistance, the V-Toku2 core of this blade is sandwiched between outer layers of tough SUS410 stainless steel. This laminated construction is clearly visible when the full-flat-ground blade is examined closely, as the transition between the core and outer layers can be seen just above the blade's cutting edge.
Nevertheless, because V-Toku2 is a genuine tool steel, its exposed surfaces are susceptible to corrosion and must be appropriately maintained.
All other features of this amazingly capable, pocket-friendly knife are consistent with the standard version of the Manbug Lightweight, including a sturdy back lock mechanism, a Trademark Round Hole™ in the blade for easy opening and Bi-Directional Texturing™ on the handle for a secure grip.
The tough fibreglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle is injection moulded in the distinctive blue-grey colour that signifies Spyderco's elite V-Toku2 Sprint-Run series of knives.
