This distinct Sprint Run™ interpretation of the Para® 3 Lightweight highlights a blade made from CPM® 15V®, a remarkable steel known for its outstanding wear resistance, the best among cold-work tool steels today. With nearly 15 per cent vanadium in its composition, this unique alloy produces a high concentration of vanadium carbides in its microstructure, which results in impressive cutting performance and exceptional edge retention for knife blades.
Spyderco’s limited-edition CPM 15V knives benefit from a specialized heat treatment protocol by renowned custom knifemaker Shawn Houston. This Sprint Run version of the Para 3 Lightweight retains all the key features of the original design, including the efficient Compression Lock® mechanism and a reversible deep-pocket wire clip.
To mark its place in the CPM 15V collection, it also sports a brown injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle and Shawn Houston’s “Triple B” logo laser-etched on the reverse side of the full-flat-ground blade.
